Hello World
This is the home page of Lorenzo Maria Perrone’s website!
I have a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Cambridge (UK), and currently I work at the Leibniz-Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam AIP (Germany).
I have always been fascinated by the world around us and I was driven to physics and astrophysics by a strong sense of curiosity to understand how Nature works.
In my education I have learned to apply mathematical models to describe complex physical systems such as astrophysical turbulence and plasma instabilities, but similar models are used for weather forecasting, atmospheric circulation, and so on.
My research focus right now is on studying how turbulence evolves in our Universe using massively-parallelized computer simulations. Below you can find a sample of my work.
