About me
My name is Lorenzo. I am a post-doc at the Leibniz-Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam (AIP), Germany, where I moved after finishing my PhD at the University of Cambridge, UK. My research focuses on astrophysical turbulence in galaxy clusters and on the physics of dilute plasmas, using theoretical models and computer simulations.
My recent work develops along two main avenues. First, I study how the properties of the plasma on small scales (in particular electron transport) affect the large-scale behaviour of galaxy clusters. Second, I employ different techniques to investigate how turbulence is driven by cluster mergers and plasma instabilities in cosmological simulations, and to connect these to observations.
